We live in a world of judgement, and conformity, and pretenses.
So many pretenses!
So much so in fact, that by the time we are "responsible adults," it is not unusual to find ourselves at some point in a crisis of identity -
no longer sure who we are,
questioning our worth,
questioning our choices,
overwhelmed and resentful,
caught in the trap of why and how and what to do.
We can find ourselves lost in the tangles of fear, expectation, doubt, insecurity, and resistance.
We judge ourself and others by a paradigm of expectation,
of comparison,
of more or less than,
of 'how come I can't and he can,'
of 'why does she and I don't.'
We group ourself and others into categories of acceptability based on arbitrary standards of right and wrong, black and white, rich and poor, pretty and ugly, humble and conceited, hardworking and lazy, likeable and obnoxious, science follower and conspiracy theorist, religious zealot and spiritual hippy, educated and uneducated, vaccinated and unvaccinated, smart and dumb, right and wrong, worthy and unworthy, and all sorts of categories in between.
It's time to stop the madness!!
Is it really any wonder we find ourselves (inner world) and the world at large in a state of upheaval?
The face of humanity is being forced to take a hard, long look at its shortcomings and beliefs.
I think most of us can agree that something needs to change.
But what kind of change do we want to see? What kind of world do we want?
I believe a revolution of sorts is already underway, rumbling both above and beneath the surface, and that this revolution is a fight between the light and the dark, between love and evil, between right and wrong.
And like the many revolutions in history before it, this revolution is about freedom -
the freedom to be and to choose and to move about without restriction,
the freedom to be true to self and not be judged,
the freedom to believe one thing over another without fear of consequence or bodily harm or the withholding of basic human rights.
Free will! What is free will to you?
I believe that we, as individuals AND as a collective, are being challenged to strip away the layers of what is false, phony, and fake.
To reveal what is inauthentic.
To expose what is dark, unloving, and unjust.
We are being confronted with our own triggers,
our own insecurities,
our own rigid-mindedness,
our own inability to see other viewpoints and perspectives.
We are being challenged to recognize the innate goodness and worthiness of every human being,
to love each other without condition and judgement,
without separation and division,
without classification and categorization.
But it starts with each of us as individuals!
Each day try to let go of one thing that isn't really you.
Catch yourself doing something that you don't really want to do,
saying yes when you want to say no,
or agreeing with someone when it's not what you really feel or think.
Catch yourself judging someone, or saying or thinking something unkind about another human being.
Catch yourself belittling yourself when you look in the mirror, or when you aren't invited to something you wish you had been, or when you see something on social media that makes you question your own talent or worth.
Catch yourself questioning what you thought you believed when a friend says they believe something else, or changing what you really believe because you are afraid the other person won't like you anymore.
Catch yourself!!
Catch yourself pushing yourself beyond your limits because something 'must get done,' or you promised someone you would do something, or it's the way it's always been done, or what will they think of me if I don't do such and such.
Catch yourself feeling resentful and ask yourself why.
Catch yourself acting out of fear instead of acting out of love.
When you make the choice to stop the madness of judgement and pretense, and instead have compassion and love (for yourself AND others), you will be amazed at how often you catch yourself!
And you will be amazed at how the movement of truth takes on a beautiful flow in your life, and things that were once hard become easier.
Things that were once unclear suddenly find perspective.
Things that you so easily scrutinized and criticized in yourself and others no longer trigger you.
You will find yourself discovering your authenticity, and when you do you will no longer care as much what others think of you because what you think of yourself is what has become most important.
When you radiate with authenticity -with truth and love- others around you naturally respond with love and respect because your presence is like a much-needed breath of fresh air.
You inspire others.
You leave them feeling seen and loved.
In turn, you attract more of what you need and want.
And THAT vibration sends healing ripples everywhere!!
This recognition is the beginning of change.
It's the beginning of love leading the way.
it's the beginning of humans living in true harmony and peace.
Don't let doom and gloom take over your thoughts.
Of course it won't happen overnight.
It's been a LONG time of the pendulum swinging too far in the wrong direction.
It's been a long, slow, steady ignoring of inner whispers in favor of what is popular and well-liked by the masses.
Change is rarely without discord and dis-ease.
It is rarely without struggle and conflict.
But, like every change that happens, there comes a point where a choice must be made,
and the end result is ALWAYS worth it!
Ask yourself right now, "Is this the world I want to see?"
"Is the work to change it worth it?
"Can I make a difference?"
I hope you say it is, and that you know you can!
I hope you'll believe in the power of love and light to overcome the darkness of judgement and hatred,
the darkness of power and control,
the darkness of restriction and confinement.
I hope you'll choose to believe in the power of healing, one person, one heart, one opportunity, one choice, one realization at a time.
Because something HAS to change.
Let that change begin with you!
Let it begin with the courage to be true to yourself, and to allow others to be true to themselves as well.
Let it begin with remembering we are all free human beings, and all equally worthy of love.
Consider this:
Regardless of where a dark shadow comes from, be it a personal demon or one imposed on you against your will, the only way out of the situation is either first admitting it and stepping directly into the light, or in the case of something happening against your will, shining a light where that darkness exists and thereby exposing it.
Both require the courage to change, to stand up for what is right, even when it's hard, and even when it's not popular.
But courage and change don't always have to be aggressive and loud, especially if that isn't you.
Courage and change don't have to be ugly and combative if that's not in your makeup.
There are other ways to make a difference.
Courage and change can be accomplished with choice, with compassion, and with heart leading the way.
Don't ever forget that you have within you a peaceful voice that needs no words, and that voice is called love.
Wake up every day and choose to show love to everyone at every turn, starting with yourself, and watch your inner world begin to make a difference in the outer world around you.
I KNOW with every fiber of my being that I'm right about this.
I hope you'll join me in bringing in a new and kinder, free world. ❤
Sending love and blessings to you all this Thanksgiving, and always!
With so much gratitude,
Chris♥
